I drew this some time ago, from a photo of Merry (yeah, I'm one of those draw-from-a-photo people). Instead of scanning it I just took a picture and the camera added it's own kind of gradient. The drawing actually goes down past his waist, but I'm still trying to get a good picture of that. This is pretty close to its actual size and was done with pencil.
And I just have to add that Merry is my favorite hobbit, because he is awesome.
Merry was created by JRR Tolkien, as we all know.
EDIT: I finally uploaded the full, scanned version. Doesn't it look so much better? Oh yes.
